Additional information
The Adnà Microbiota Test is an in-depth analysis of the oral microbiome that offers a unique overview of your health based on the bacteria present in the mouth. The test involves sequencing the DNA of several hundred bacteria living in the mouth and assessing the balance between them. An imbalance of these bacteria can be directly linked to poor oral health conditions and, indirectly, to other types of pathology.
The mouth is by far the part of the body most exposed to pathogens and changes. The acidity of food, hygiene or alcohol have a direct impact on the concentrations of the different bacterial communities that live in our mouth. Stress, sleep deprivation or infectious processes will also directly influence the bacterial balance in your mouth.
The Adnà microbiota report is classified in 2 main sections: pathologies and bacteria.

Warning
It is important to note that, unlike genetics, where variation over a lifetime is essentially nil, microbiota is constantly evolving and changing. Thus, the results of the report may also vary depending on when it is carried out. This means that it may be wise to perform a microbiome test periodically to monitor the evolution of certain aspects of your health and confirm the impact of changes in habits. Adnà recommends sharing the microbiota test report with your GP before making any drastic lifestyle changes. Furthermore, these tests do not replace other diagnostic tests, such as dental consultations.
