Siblingship test

The sibling DNA test compares the DNA of two individuals to assess the probability that they share one or both biological parents. The result is expressed as a statistical probability, ranging from nearly 0% to 99.99%, reflecting the strength of the relationship. Contrary to the simplified idea that “full siblings” always share exactly 50% of their DNA (or 25% for half-siblings), these numbers are only averages. Each genetic relationship is unique, and the exact proportion of shared DNA can vary from one case to another. This is why our laboratory analyzes profiles across 22 distinct loci and uses a likelihood ratio calculation to provide a clear and precise probability estimate.

Simplified Process:

1. Order your test and receive a kit containing two sample envelopes (for the two alleged siblings). You will be asked to specify whether you believe you are full siblings or half-siblings.
2. Receive your kit: activate your test using the activation code provided. Collect the samples by following the instructions included in your kit.
3. Return the samples using the prepaid return label included in your kit so they can be analyzed by the laboratory.
4. Access your results: view your confidential report through our secure online portal.

Results are ready within five business days after the samples are received at the laboratory.
