DNA ancestry test: where did your ancestors come from?
Adnà’s ancestry test analyzes over 700,000 genetic markers to trace your origins across more than 1,500 regions and 175 countries. A simple saliva sample, collected at home, is all it takes. The analysis is carried out by an accredited partner laboratory using Illumina technology. You receive your report as a PDF by email 30 to 45 business days after the lab receives your sample.
What your report reveals
- Your origins by region and country. A detailed picture of your ancestry, down to the province or region level in some countries.
- Your ancestors’ migrations. How population movements and exchanges between cultures shaped your genetic heritage.
- Both of your lineages together. The analysis of autosomal DNA covers your ancestors on both your father’s and your mother’s side.
- Your affinities with major populations. The groups and civilizations with which you share the most markers.
How does an ancestry test work?
You inherit half of your DNA from each parent, who inherited it from their own parents, and so on. The lab compares your DNA with reference populations whose geographic origin is known. The more markers you share with a population, the higher that origin appears in your result.
The percentages are estimates: they may change slightly as the reference databases grow.
How much does the test cost?
The ancestry test costs €249. The price includes the kit, the prepaid return label, the lab analysis and the report.

How the test works, step by step

- Get your report by email, as a PDF, 30 to 45 business days after the lab receives your sample.
What the test does not do
