Questions?
What steps does ADNÀ take to guarantee the quality and purity of the DNA sample?
ADNÀ provides clear, easy-to-follow instructions for sample collection to ensure its purity and quality. Our laboratories apply strict protocols when handling and analyzing your DNA, thus ensuring that your results are both accurate and reliable.
Are DNA paternity tests legal in Canada?
In Canada, DNA filiation tests are legal and widely used for personal, medical, or legal purposes. However, it is recommended to consult a legal professional to understand the specific legal implications of your situation.
Please also note that the consent of all participants is required to proceed with a paternity test with Adnà.
No. Adnà does not offer DNA tests that meet the specific legal requirements for immigration applications.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) requires a strictly controlled process involving in-person identity verification and a formal chain of custody. These steps can only be carried out by laboratories that meet IRCC’s own accreditation and procedural standards.
While Adnà works with accredited laboratories for informational DNA tests, all tests available on our platform are for informational use only and cannot be used as legal proof for immigration.
We strongly recommend working with:
👉 Wyndham Forensic Group (WFG)
A Canadian ISO 17025–accredited laboratory recognized by IRCC for legally admissible immigration DNA testing.

WFG is also one of Adnà’s trusted laboratory partners, which ensures continuity and scientific rigor when clients need both informational and legal DNA testing.
IRCC requires a dedicated process that includes:
These steps cannot be completed through at-home kits or informational testing.

At Adnà, we understand that certain situations involving biological identity or family relationships can raise significant legal issues — such as child custody, inheritance, parental recognition, paternity disputes, immigration, and more.
That’s why we work with trusted legal partners who can support you throughout these processes, in addition to our legally admissible DNA tests.

Yes, for relationship tests, our partner laboratory can perform the analysis on non-standard samples such as a toothbrush or blood, for example. The cost is higher, ranging from $750 to $850, and the turnaround time is longer because the laboratory first applies a DNA extraction method tailored to the type of material. Some samples (e.g., hair without roots, old tissues, cigarette butts that are too old) contain very little or degraded DNA.
